Mr Brian Griese
Tampa Bay, FL
Dear Mr Griese:
Thank you for the thoughtful note. I have shared it with our cleaning associates and they are very pleased to have received it. I had considered replying with a card, but decided that a more public note about Judi’s House would be more appropriate.
Something which I found particularly noteworthy during your time in Denver was that while some of your teammates were spending their money on cool cars and mansions, you invested your salary in a foundation to benefit the community, and honor your mother. I can’t tell you how much that impressed me.
And so, I was not surprised to find upon my initial survey of Judi’s House, that you had created a foundation based on similarly sensible and frugal values, and staffed it with knowledgeable and truly committed professionals. And during that initial visit, those were two of the three things which impressed me most about the organization. The third thing which impressed me, or should I say, absolutely astonished me was the extent of your ongoing generosity to our community. And again last year, when I surveyed Judi’s House in its expanded quarters, I was astounded that you would, quietly from a city far away, double down on your generosity in such a manner to benefit the children of a community in which you no longer live.
I would like to take this opportunity to assure you that your ongoing generosity, in Denver, has not gone unnoticed. Since you founded Judi’s House in 2001 to support and comfort children after the death of a loved one, more than 1,000 of Colorado’s children have passed through the doors of Judi’s House. There they have found dedicated professionals trained to listen and help, in an environment conducive to comforting children in their hour of grief. And so it is that your remarkable generosity has rendered remarkable results.
In Denver, we shall remain . . .
Gratefully yours,
Chris Lude
